We stand with Kansas farmers!
- Trump's cuts to USAID are stopping the nearly $2 billion in surplus wheat and grain bought from farmers by USAID for humanitarian aid every year
- USAID cuts have also stopped agricultural research grants for things like drought resistant crops in Kansas
- Elon Musk's DOGE closed down the Topeka regional office of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Risk Management Agency which housed employees that helped and served over 117,000 Kansas farmers. They insured farmers had things like affordable crop insurance and the ability to choose what crops they grow
- Although Trump's tariffs are most likely going to have a devastating impact on Kansas farmers, according to our Senator, Roger Marshall, "Even though Canada and Mexico were the number one trade partners for Kansas agriculture, I think that my farmers are willing to be patriots and stand beside President Trump." In other words, "These will undoubtedly hurt the farmers I represent, but if you're a real patriot you'll suck it up."
